Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I need to see the report output in a dashboard gadget. Do you have one?

  • We've been considering building a dashboard gadget for Time in Status reports for a long time. The main concern is the performance impact on your Jira server. Time in Status prepares its report output by going through not just each issue but also each issue's history. Since dashboard gadgets are recalculated every time the dashboard is displayed; for datasets with hundreds, thousands or greater number of issues, this could put a great load on the server. For this reason we are deliberately not building a dashboard gadget. On the other hand if you think this gadget would be useful, we would very much like to hear about your use case. Please contact us through our support.

I am planning a Jira migration between OnPrem (Server or Data Center) and Cloud. Is there anything I need to do for Time in Status migration?

  • Time in Status produces all its reports based on issue histories. Issue history data is migrated as part of your Jira migration. You don't need to do anything extra about it.
  • Time in Status specific data (permissions, calendar definitions, format settings, saved param sets, etc.) currently do not have a migration path. You will need to set the same settings on the target system manually.
  • This information applies to both OnPrem-to-Cloud migrations and Cloud-to-OnPrem migrations.
