Timepiece Assistant
Timepiece Assistant lets you generate reports and get insights using natural language. You describe what you need, and Assistant builds the right report configuration for you.
Timepiece Assistant is powered by Atlassian Rovo.
You can ask about:
-
cycle time, lead time, resolution time
-
status durations
-
bottlenecks and blockers
-
project-specific metrics
-
team or user comparisons
Example requests:
-
Show the cycle time for project ABC in January
-
Which statuses caused the most delay last month?
-
How many issues were blocked in Q1?
How it works
-
Click the Timepiece Assistant button located in the bottom-right corner of the Timepiece main screen.
-
Enter a question or request in plain language.
-
The assistant analyzes your input and:
-
generates a ready-to-use report link, or
-
provides a direct answer about Timepiece features or configuration.
-
When a report link is generated, you can open the link to view and refine the report parameters.
Notes
-
The assistant may generate a report link or provide a direct answer, depending on your request.
-
Generated reports follow standard Timepiece permissions and Jira access rules.
-
You can modify filters, date ranges, and display options after opening a generated report.
-
Some complex queries may require refinement or follow-up questions.
Timepiece Assistant is a Rovo Agent with customized instructions. It does not depend on an AI model that is hosted externally, and surely doesn’t egress any customer data. All the AI capabilities of this agent are directly from Rovo. All the responses you get from this agent come from Rovo, and they are subject to the same limitations, permissions checks, and safeguards of Rovo.
Only users who can already access Rovo can use this agent. Currently, the only way to disable this agent is to disable Rovo altogether on your Jira.
